Gilles Dumas’ side play their first game since their Carnegie Challenge Cup trip to St Helens two weeks ago.

And they will be looking for a similar performance to the one that saw them shock Widnes in the Co-operative Championship earlier this month.
Olympique have recorded three league victories in 2010, meaning they occupy the final play-off spot.

Bulldogs forward Johnny Simpson has returned to training following a broken ankle, but Saturday’s fixture is likely to come too soon for him to feature. Ian Preece (hand) faces another two months out.

Batley coach Karl Harrison has called for his side to improve their basic skills when they travel to the south of France.

Last week they lost to Widnes 32-24, and Harrison was far from impressed.

He said: “Our completion rate was just 52 per cent and you can’t win games with stats like that. At the moment we’ve got an ability to shoot ourselves in the head.

“We’re turning the ball over, and not giving ourselves a chance to win games at the moment.”
