Radford: I can’t fault the effort
Hull FC coach Lee Radford has complimented his team’s effort in their 21-point defeat at the hands of St Helens.
“I will go in there and credit all the players I thought they were fantastic and we will be better than next Friday obviously against Wigan,” Radford told Sky Sports.
“It looked like a team that had two weeks to prepare for us and it looked like a team who had fell out of a den somewhere on Tuesday.
“I asked them to go hard early and then just see where we go from there and I felt they did that.
“Fatigue got us a little bit towards the end but in the main I thought the effort was outstanding.
“The call where we got done for obstruction down there and they scored from that. When you’re under the pump a bit you need a little bit of luck and for them to make a decision up like that I thought it really hurt us.”
Next week, Radford expects a much improved performance, when they take on the Wigan.
“We will have much better preparation than one day’s training and straight into a game and obviously we will have some players coming back as well so it’s going to be a big game.
“They are obviously stinging from last night and it means an awful lot to us as well.”
