Radford: We made it an uphill struggle
The Black and Whites might have avoided a third consecutive defeat with victory over Wakefield but Hull FC head coach Lee Radford admitted the performance was nowhere near it should be.
The Airlie Birds secured an 18-12 victory against the Wildcats at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
“We did ourselves no favours for long periods of that game but with these conditions and the dew on the field unfortunately you have to snag a game or two,” Radford told Sky Sports.
“Hopefully we will snag another three in the next few weeks I will be happy with that.
“It was always going to be tough, they had their last game at home. To go in against a team like that, they had a go against us, tested our middles out but we are still in with a shout.
“I didn’t think we were intelligent enough when we got down their end of the field, our execution is not where it should be.
“As a coach it’s great because I’ve got something to work on and as a team we have won but it will have to be a lot better than that next week.”
