Former Man of Steel Rangi Chase suffered a broken arm on his Rochdale debut.

The 35-year-old half-back linked up with the Hornets last week after leaving League 1 outfit West Wales Raiders due to family reasons.

Chase, who won eight caps for England between 2011-13, made his debut for the Hornets in Sunday’s 38-28 win over North Wales Crusaders but unfortunately suffered a broken arm.

“Rangi suffered a broken arm and is having surgery today,” Rochdale chairman Andy Mazey tweeted.

“But for bad luck we would have none at all but we will keep going head down and keeping fighting.”

Rochdale currently sit sixth in the League 1 table, winning three out of their opening eight games of the season.
