Rawlins: Cougars showing progress
Keighley’s Australian prop Brendon Rawlins believes the club has hit a turning point after their win against Sheffield Eagles last Thursday.
“It was a great effort from the lads to overcome a very talented Sheffield side we had to believe in ourselves and not give up. It is really important for us to keep improving as we progress into the remainder of the season.”
Rawlins is looking forward to this Sundays Northern Rail Cup quarter final game against York as he knows it will be another exciting game between the two clubs.
He said: “York will no doubt have a point to prove after we beat them in last year’s playoff semi final but we have been training and preparing well and will not be underestimating them.
“It’s always a good atmosphere at Cougar Park and with it being a cup quarter final hopefully lots of Cougar fans will come down on Sunday to cheer us on.”
On a personal note, the front rower has had a few niggling injuries so far this season. He added: “I am enjoying playing in the Championship but a couple of injuries have meant I have missed a few games, we have a strong squad here at Cougars which keeps us all on our toes, we know that we all have to earn our places in the team. Hopefully I will keep injury free for the rest of the season and help the team stay in the Championship.”
