Relief for Burgess

South Sydney enforcer Sam Burgess has been informed that his shoulder injury suffered against Papua New Guinea on Saturday is not serious.

Burgess had scans on Sunday morning and has been cleared to join his Rabbitohs team mates for pre-season training in the new year as planned.

A club statement said: “There is no major damage to the shoulder and with physiotherapy he will right to commence training in the first week of January.”
