Remi Casty to remain with Toulouse in maiden Super League season
Former Catalans Dragons and France captain Remi Casty will stay on with promoted Toulouse following his retirement after being appointed as assistant to head coach Sylvain Houles.
The 36-year-old front-row forward spent 15 years as a player with the Catalans before switching clubs and helping Toulouse win a place in Super League in his farewell season.
Remi Casty said” “I am really happy to be able to join the Toulouse staff for this first season in the Super League and excited at the idea of working alongside Sylvain and the rest of the staff.
“I will be able to put all my energy into this new project.”

Toulouse president Bernard Sarrazain said: “We always need Remi. He has brought us so much this year and I am sure he will bring us as much next year in his new role.”
Toulouse have also announced the signing of 21-year-old centre Max Clarke from Sheffield Eagles on a two-year deal. He will ply his trade for the club’s reserve team in the French Elite Championship.
Toulouse snap up James Cunningham
The 27-year-old began his Super League career with home-town club Hull before going on to play for London Broncos and Toronto Wolfpack.
Cunningham was signed by Huddersfield on a two-year contract 12 months ago but did not play for them in the second half of the 2021 season and was released by mutual agreement.
He said: “I’m really happy to join Toulouse. I have been looking forward to this trip every season and I am happy to make my home in the Pink City.
“I can’t wait to start this adventure and show that the club’s place is in the Super League.”
Toulouse president Bernard Sarrazain said: “With this new chapter which is opening for our club, we must strengthen ourselves with experienced players, this is the case with James.
“He has a lot of experience in the Super League and that’s what we’re looking for.”
