Rhinos keep Crusaders scoreless
Ben Jones-Bishop scored two tries as Leeds recorded a comfortable 32-0 win in a pre-season friendly with Crusaders.
The young fullback, who spent the 2010 season on loan at Harlequins, was joined on the scoresheet by Keith Senior, Carl Ablett and Ryan Hall, who also finished the game with a brace.
In front of a noisy crowd of 1,616, an understrength home side rarely troubled the Rhinos defence, although the performances of Welsh youngsters Elliot Kear and Jamie Murphy will have pleased Crusaders boss Iestyn Harris.
The Rhinos enjoyed the majority of possession throughout, taking a 14-0 half time lead courtesy of a try from Senior and two from Hall.
Crusaders defence improved in the second period before two quick fire tries from Jones-Bishop, either side of Ablett’s effort, wrapped up the victory.
In truth Crusaders created only a handful of genuine scoring opportunities, although the absences of Jarrod Sammut, Rhys Hanbury, Vince Mellars and Clinton Schifcofske deprived Harris of his main attacking weapons.
