Riley Dean: Ireland World Cup hopeful signs new Warrington deal
Ireland World Cup hopeful Riley Dean has signed a new two-year deal with Warrington, keeping him at the club until at least the end of 2024.
The 20-year-old came through the ranks at Warrington and has made six first team appearances to date.
Dean has recently been recalled from a successful loan spell with Championship side Newcastle Thunder.
He said: “I’ve been at the club for seven years now coming through the academy set-up and it’s my home now.
“I really enjoy being at the club and it was an easy decision to stay.
“It’s up to me now to train as hard as I can and put myself in the limelight to play as many games as possible.”
Warrington boss delighted to retain Riley Dean
Dean captained the first-ever Ireland Under-16s team. He was recently part of an Ireland training camp as head coach Ged Corcoran ramped up their World Cup preparations.
Warrington coach Daryl Powell said: “Riley has really grown over the season to date. He’s shown that he can do some quality things at Super League level at such a young age.
“He has now got the platform to really develop his game over the next two years; and show us how good a prospect he really is.”
Dean joins fellow talented youngsters Josh Thewlis and Connor Wrench in committing their futures to the Wolves.
Warrington’s rebuild under coach Powell is in full force. The Wolves have already signed Samoa World Cup hopeful Thomas Mikaele from the NRL, whist Catalans duo Gil Dudson and Sam Kasiano will also link up with the club at the end of the year.
Australia and Italy international prop Paul Vaughan has penned a two-year deal with Warrington from 2023.
