Daryl Powell hoping to utilise breaks
Warrington Head Coach Daryl Powell is hoping to make the most of the breaks coming up for Challenge Cup action. (Warrington Guardian).
Powell told Warrington Guardian: “The one thing this month gives us now is a bit of time to work on some combinations.
“Don’t get me wrong, we’ve got to play Catalans and Saints in this month but we’ve also got time to do some work when we’ve had none really over the last four games.”
Jansin Turgut targeting Super League return
Jansin Turgut says he wants to return to Super League one day after representing Turkey less than three years after suffering catastrophic injuries in an attempt to take his own life.
Speaking to Love Rugby League about his return to action, Turgut said: “I’ll be honest my return was Drighlington away and it was freezing cold, raining, muddy and a slow game.
“But seven games later with West Hull I’m still playing and I’m really enjoying it. I’ve found the love for the game again. Hopefully it’s a way to show people you can struggle and get through it and things can get better.”
Danny Ward on London struggles
Former London Broncos head coach Danny Ward has discussed how difficult it can be to attract players to the capital.
“It was always going to be a struggle going into a part-time model,” Ward told Love Rugby League.
“The turnover of players was always going to take time.
“It has been tough for them. It’s a challenge and we knew it would be when they decided to go down that part-time road. It’s hard to recruit down here when you’re full-time, with the cost of living and getting northerners down here or overseas, there’s a lot of challenges even when we were a full-time Super League side.”
