Former Australia international Blake Ferguson is being linked with a move to England as he looks to resurrect his career. (Rugby League Live)
Ferguson recently returned to Australia after serving time in prison in Japan. He was due to play for NEC Green Rockets, but was sacked after his arrest.
Championship fixture to be shown on OuRLeague
Next Friday’s Championship fixture between Leigh and Dewsbury at Leigh Sports Village will be shown on OuRLeague.
The Centurions will be hoping to keep the pressure on Featherstone at the top, while Dewsbury will be hoping to distance themselves from the bottom two.
Iain Thornley helps out Community club
Wigan centre Iain Thornley helped community side Ashton Bears by running the water onto the pitch during Saturday’s match against Halton. (Wigan Today).
Thornley told Wigan Today: “It was a big match against Halton Hornets at the weekend. It’s only early days but it was a top of the table clash. So they said it’d be nice if I went down and ran the water on for the lads to help them out.”
Carlos Tuimavave set to return against Sheffield
Hull FC Head Coach Brett Hodgson has said Carlos Tuimavave is set to make his return from injury in the Challenge Cup against Sheffield. (Hull Live).
Hodgson told Hull Live:”It’s great, we’ve missed him in the first six weeks. He’s a big part of our team and such a good player for us.
“We’ve had a number of players come in and do a good job for us to be fair but the calibre of player he is, we’ve missed him on the field. He’s worked hard and we’re looking forward to getting him on the field.”
Challenge Cup Team News
The sixth round of the Challenge Cup is coming up this weekend. Wigan welcome Salford in the first game on Friday night.
The Warriors have named an unchanged side from the team that beat Castleford last week. Meanwhile, Salford will be without Ken Sio, who will miss out through concussion protocol.

Trivia
In 1996, Salford broke Wigan’s hold on the Challenge Cup with a 26-16 win at The Willows. Wigan had won the Challenge Cup for eight years in a row prior to that match.
