Daryl Powell argues for video referee rule change
Warrington Head Coach Daryl Powell has said it is time to change the on-field call to assist the video referee. (Manchester Evening News).
Powell told Manchester Evening News: “If you look at what they’re doing in Australia, the referee either gives or disallows the try and then the video referee confirms it or asks to have a look at it.”
Former Cronulla & London full-back hospitalised
Former Cronulla and London Broncos full-back Nathan Stapleton has been hospitalised after fracturing his neck playing rugby union.
After the incident, his club Boorowa Rugby Club posted on Facebook: “During our game last Saturday at West Wyalong, Goldies Men’s player Nathan Stapleton suffered a significant injury during the second half which led to the match being abandoned.
“Unfortunately during contact, Nathan fractured his neck and injured his spinal cord, requiring significant medical assistance. Through an incredible effort from members of each club, Nathan was given first aid until paramedics could arrive.”
Jack Sinfield reacts to Leeds debut
Leeds youngster Jack Sinfield has spoken to Daily Mirror about making his Leeds debut on Monday.
He told Daily Mirror: “It (debut) all still feels just a bit surreal really. I can’t really believe it’s happened. I’m a bit sore but just glad I got the first one out of the way. Hopefully I’m not as nervous next time.”
