Referees to show more caution when showing cards
Referees are being urged to show more caution when brandishing yellow and red cards going forward after a meeting with coaches. (Daily Mirror).
They say if there is doubt between a penalty and a yellow card, then just a penalty will be awarded. Equally, if they are unsure if an offence is a yellow or red card, then a yellow card will be awarded.
Matt Peet wants to take Wigan on journey in Challenge Cup
Wigan Head Coach Matt Peet has said he wants to take Wigan fans on a journey in the Challenge Cup. (Wigan Today).
Peet told Wigan Today: “We know it means a lot to the town and fans of the club. To take them on any sort of journey at the moment is what motivates us.”
Shaun Kenny-Dowall not concerned about contract situation
Hull KR centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall has said he is just focused on matters on the pitch for the club. (Hull Live).
Kenny-Dowall, whose contract is up at the end of the year, told Hull Live: “I just want to get the team back to winning ways and playing good footy. That (contract situation) can sort itself out later in the year.”
Mitch Garbutt confident Toulouse can survive
Toulouse forward Mitch Garbutt believes his side has enough to able to stay up in the Super League. (Love Rugby League).
Garbutt told the Love Rugby League podcast:“ I don’t think the team feels pressure. Led by Sylvain it is about staying at a controlled level of emotions. I think we can surprise a lot of people and definitely stay up.”

Adrian Lam confirms interest in Blake Ferguson
Leigh Centurions head coach Adrian Lam says he is ‘definitely interested’ in the potential of signing free agent Blake Ferguson. (Love Rugby League).
It’s someone that we’d be interested in, for sure,” said Leigh Centurions head coach Lam.
“I know he’s got a few little issues around him of late, but in regards to the rugby side of things, he’d certainly lift the team here and it is a name and a face we’d be interested in for sure.”
