What the two camps are saying
Jarome Luai told Love Rugby League after last week’s loss: “We don’t know too much about Greece. I think in every game that we’re going to play, we’ve got to focus on ourselves and get better with our combinations and hopefully get a lot more training sessions throughout the week. We haven’t had too many, so we’ll get into that and bounce against Greece.”
Greece captain Jordan Meads said: “Six months ago rugby league was illegal in our own country.
“I think the Rugby League World Cup has come across at a perfect time. Although we want to do ourselves proud, we’ve got an amazing opportunity to springboard rugby league in our own country. We’ve got no doubt that this event is going to allow us to do that.”
