Rovers name new Under 18s coach

Featherstone have appointed Bramley Buffaloes boss Mark Butterill as their new Under 18s coach.

Butterill has cut his teeth in grass roots rugby with the Buffaloes and Milford Marlins, and will now look at helping Featherstone with their player development, ahead of a likely push for Super League.

Head Coach Daryl Powell, who led Featherstone to the league leaders shield in the Championship last season, said: “I knew straight away as soon as I met him that Mark was the man for the job.

“He’s just the kind of person we need to get our under 18s academy up and running and to take it forward. I wanted to bring in someone that young players can look up to and who will inspire them to want to learn. I knew Mark would fit the bill almost immediately.”
