Ryan Shaw returns to rugby league with Leigh

Leigh have confirmed the signing of outside back Ryan Shaw from rugby union side Yorkshire Carnegie.

Shaw, 27, was announced as the Centurions’ latest recruit ahead of their game with York City Knights at Leigh Sports Village.

He returns to the club for a second spell, having scored three times in as many games while on loan from Warrington back in 2012.

Having previously had spells at Barrow, Swinton, London, Bradford and Hull KR, Shaw made the switch to the 15-man code last year on a 12-month deal.

However, he was granted a release from his contract on compassionate grounds earlier this week.

Shaw has scored 93 career tries in 168 appearances and is also an accomplished goal-kicker, achieving the second-highest conversion accuracy of anyone in Super League last season.
