Ryan Sutton has been left out of Canberra’s 17-man squad for their opening NRL fixture with Cronulla Sharks.

The England international has recently been linked with a move to Canterbury Bulldogs for the 2023 season and beyond.

The move would see Sutton link up with former Wigan half-back Trent Barrett.

Sutton has been named as the club’s 18th man ahead of their clash on Friday, despite an impressive 2021 season. He made 22 appearances.

Kate Ford, the partner of Sutton, took to social media to express her feelings and taking a shot at the club.

She posted the squad list, with the caption: “And I thought the fashion industry was b*****y,” including a series of laughing emojis.

Jack Wighton is set to make his 200th appearance for the Raiders against Cronulla.

James Schiller and Adam Elliott will make their club debuts for the Raiders in the first match of the season. It will also be Schiller’s first appearance in the NRL.

Schneider will start the season at half-back for the club after Jamal Fogarty was ruled out last week for an extended period with a knee injury.

Nick Cotric has been named on the wing to make his NRL return for the Raiders.
