Salford coach Ian Watson says his side are keeping firmly ground, despite being just one win away from the Super League Grand Final.

The Red Devils eliminated Castleford from the play-offs on Thursday night following a 22-0 victory at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Salford have never reached the Grand Final in the Super League era, but Watson insists his team aren’t getting ahead of themselves.

He said: “We will worry about next week first of all.

“We will see who we get tomorrow and we will take one game at a time – that is what we have built the season on. We don’t look another further than Wigan or St Helens next week.

“Apparently the winning coach of tonight has to go on Sky Sports for the St Helens-Wigan game, so I’m going to have to find a shirt or something! We’ll have a good watch of that one.

“It was a good farewell for Jacko [Jackson Hastings] at the AJ Bell but hopefully we’ll have a dream farewell for him in couple of weeks.”
