Salford Red Devils and Huddersfield Giants learn outcomes of suspension appeals ahead of penultimate round
Both Salford Red Devils and Huddersfield Giants have been unsuccessful in their appeals to have bans overturned for Brad Singleton and Luke Yates respectively.
Prop forward Singleton, 30, was charged with a Grade B high tackle by the Match Review Panel on Monday following the dramatic televised extra time win over Warrington in Super League.
He will miss this week’s crunch clash with fellow play-off hopefuls Hull KR at Craven Park, live on Sky Sports on Saturday.
Fellow forward and Huddersfield captain Yates, 28, will miss the season’s penultimate round having also been unsuccessful in overturning a one-match suspension for dangerous contact during the recent defeat to Willie Peters’ Robins at the John Smith’s Stadium.
The 26-18 loss ended Ian Watson’s side’s hopes of a top six finish, having claimed just 10 wins to date in the current campaign.
Both forwards pleaded guilty but challenged the grades handed to them. However, the grading has been found to be correct. Neither case were found to be frivolous.
