Hull KR coach Craig Sandercock was disappointed to see his side score more tries than Catalan, but still suffer defeat.

Hull KR out scored the Dragons by four tries to three, but Scott Dureau’s first half penalty was the difference despite the French side leading 20-0 at half time.

Sandercock said: “It’s not every day that you score more tries than the opposition and lose the game, it’s just devastating.”

“In the second half I was pleased with our ball control and our completion rate, and the boys followed the game plan.

“Every time we got down their end we looked like scoring which was pleasing. We didn’t concede a penalty in the second half which was pleasing, especially having conceded six in the first half.”

Sandercock also praised Blake Green who returned after suffering a blood clot last season.

He said: I was very happy with Blake and would have been even happier if he’d scored that try in the first half,” he continued. “I thought he was very solid today and he’ll be a lot better for having had that run. He combined well with Michael Dobson and obviously their partnership is still a work in progress.”
