Scott Dureau becomes a Rooster

Scott Dureau has left the Catalan Dragons and joined Sydney Roosters on loan until the end of the season.

The halfback, who has been recovering from having a tumour removed from behind his eye last year, as well as a ruptured bicep suffered in February, will link up again with coach Trent Robinson.

The Catalans recently de-listed the 27-year-old, so that they could sign Sam Williams on a short-term deal from St George-Illawarra Dragons.

“With his desire to play again at the highest level, as well as having reached the quota of foreign players, we have agreed to his request for a release until the end of the season,” said Dragons chief executive Christophe Jouffret.

“We preferred to allow him to go to an Australian club rather than a competitor in the Super League against which we could play a qualifying play-off.

“We felt that this was the best solution so that he can come back even stronger for the last year of his contract.”
