Scruton injury blow for Bulls

Bradford have been dealt a blow with the news that prop Nick Scruton will be out for more than two months with a ligament injury.

Scruton, 25, has been an ever-present since joining the Bulls from Leeds at the start of last season, making 49 consecutive appearances.

However, he sustained a grade 3 medial ligament strain in the defeat to Warrington last week and will miss between eight and ten weeks.

Bulls coach Steve McNamara said: “It’s the worst case scenario for that type of injury and really unfortunate for Nick who has been outstanding for us since his arrival at the club. Knowing Nick he will work as hard as he possibly can and he will receive the best treatment to make sure he gets back onto the field before the end of the season.”
