Sheens keeps Kangaroos job
Veteran Tim Sheens has retained his position as Australia‘s head coach.
Sheens, who was dismissed from his position with Wests Tigers in September, will take on the job for a fifth term and will take the Kangaroos into next year’s World Cup.
The 62-year-old former Penrith and Canberra boss will also have a new part-time role assisting the national high performance program.
“The Kangaroos have a proud history in the World Cup, winning nine of the 13 tournaments ever contested, so bringing the 2013 trophy home from the UK is my key focus,” Sheens told AAP.
