Sheffield Eagles have signed young prop Kieran Moran from Hull Kingston Rovers on a one-year contract.

Moran enjoyed a fine 2017 season, making two appearances for the Robins as well as playing 18 games for York City Knights on dual-registration.

As a reward of his impressive performances in League 1, the front-rower was called up to Steve McCormack’s Scotland squad for the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.

The 21-year-old didn’t play a game for the Bravehearts but it was a fine reward for an impressive season.

And Moran says he wants to help Sheffield reach the Qualifiers.

He said: “I’m very happy to come here, it’s a big opportunity for me to test myself in the Championship with a great club like Sheffield.

“The World Cup was awesome, just getting out to Australia and being involved in the World Cup was maybe a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“It’s good to come back from there to the Eagles and hopefully kick on my career in the Championship. The Championship is a good, physical league and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
