Sheffield sign Salford pair on loan
Sheffield have signed Salford pair Jon Ford and Will Hope on season-long loans.
Ford, a centre or wing, scored 15 tries in 11 appearances for Oldham in 2013, while second-rower Hope joined Salford from local community club Folly Lane.
Both will begin training with the Eagles on Friday, and are likely to feature in Mark Aston’s squad for Andrew Henderson‘s testimonial match at York on Sunday.
Aston said: “It’s great that Jon and Will have agreed to join us for the 2014 season.
“They are both big, tough players and will certainly add some firepower and depth to our squad.
“I’ve spoken with Brian Noble (Salford Head Coach) at length about Jon and Will and he rates them very highly.
“He knows they need game time with a top club to help them develop and coming to the Eagles will allow them to do that.
“I am very excited about bringing them here; they are young players with great prospects and careers ahead of them.”
