Six Championship and League 1 players charged
Six players have been charged with offences committed in recent Championship and League 1 fixtures after the incidents were viewed by the RFL Match Review Panel.
Jamie Acton of Leigh Centurions and Tom Lillicrop of Batley Bulldogs have each been charged with Grade B striking in the Championship fixture played at Fox’s Biscuits Stadium on Sunday June 14.
Louis Sheriff of Newcastle Thunder has been charged with Grade C running in and punching in the League 1 fixture against University of Gloucestershire All Golds played on Saturday June 13.
Newcastle player Matty Baron and Gloucestershire’s Alex Davidson have each been charged with Grade B punching in the same match.
Tony Suffolk of Rochdale Hornets has been charged with the Grade F offence of making dangerous contact with Alex Thompson of North Wales Crusaders in the League 1 fixture played on Sunday June 14.
Lillicrop, Sheriff, Baron and Davidson have until 11am next Tuesday (June 23) to submit Early Guilty Pleas (EGP).
Acton and Suffolk do not have the option of submitting EGPs and will appear before an independent disciplinary rules tribunal on Tuesday evening.
