Slyney hoping home comforts favour London

London Broncos forward Nick Slyney is looking for his team to make the most of being at home this weekend against Halifax.

The Broncos are looking to make it three wins from three when Fax come to the Hive on Saturday.

Although currently sidelined with injury, Slyney believes that London have to make the most of home comforts, as their travel burden is bigger than for many other teams.

“We’re back here at home where we’ve won both of our previous games,” Slyney told the Broncos’ matchday programme.

“I’m sure it’s a goal of every club to win their home games, but more so for us being the only southern team with every other team having to travel down to us.

“If we can take advantage of that and win every home game that will go a long way to helping us.”

Slyney is also helping the squad train while his rehabilitation continues.

“It’s been three weeks since I had surgery and I see the surgeon again next week,” he explained.

“I’m still a couple of months until I’m back. It’s tough being on the side-lines, I get very frustrated that I can’t be out there on the field helping the boys.

“I try and show the boys some leadership and give them self-confidence at training.”
