The Rugby League of the Extraordinary is the latest attempt to attract a wider audience to Super League.

The video celebrates the incredible strength and highly skilled talent of the players in the league, aiming to attract general sports fans to rugby league events.

With the play-offs now in full swing, the first aim is to attract people to the Super League Grand Final in October.

A player from each of the eight teams who made it through in to the play-offs are represented, including Eorl “The Hulk of Huddersfield” Crabtree.

He is featured pushing a skip in the advert, while James “The St Helens Dynamo” Roby’s toughness and Sam “The Wigan Whirlwind” Tomkins’ trickery are also featured.

Eight different static adverts have been created, also featuring Ben “The Warrington Wrecking Ball” Westwood, Tom “The Rocket of Hull” Briscoe, Leon “The Fireball of Catalan” Pryce, Tim “The Wakefield Wizard” Smith and Ryan “The Try Tornado of Leeds” Hall.

The play-offs continue this weekend as Leeds travel to Catalan, and Warrington host Hull.

The winners of those two matches will then go in to the ClubCall announcement, where league leaders’ Wigan Warriors will choose which team they want to play in the semi-finals.

The other team faces a trip to Langtree Park to face St Helens, before the winners of those semi-finals go head-to-head at Old Trafford on October 6th.

Rugby league enters a big year in 2013, with more domestic titles up for grabs, but also the Rugby League World Cup in the autumn.
