Squad watch: Super League Round 11 squad news, TV coverage & predictions

Here is everything you need to know ahead of Super League Round 11, including squad news, television coverage and our predictions.

Super League returns to action following the international break that saw England claim a 64-0 win over France at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Hull’s home clash with Wigan kicks-off the action on Thursday, live on Sky Sports.

The Sky Sports cameras continue the coverage on Friday in Perpignan, as Catalans host St Helens. All the other remaining fixtures also take place on Friday evening.

Super League Round 11 squads:

Hull v Wigan (Thursday, 8pm, live on Sky Sports)

Jake Trueman has been named for the first time since his ACL injury and could make his Hull debut at home against the Warriors. He is one of two changes made by head coach Tony Smith, with Harvey Barron coming in to replace Andre Savelio and Jack Brown.

Ryan Hampshire could also make his return from injury, having been included in Matt Peet’s 21-man squad. He featured for the club’s reserves side last weekend in the 36-12 victory over Wakefield.

Hull: Swift, Tuimavave, Sutcliffe, McIntosh, Trueman, Clifford, Sao, Houghton, Satae, Lane, Fash, Lovodua, Cator, Scott, McNamara, Griffin, Litten, Barron, Gardiner, Taylor, Dwyer.

Wigan: French, King, Wardle, Marshall, Smith, Powell, Byrne, Farrell, Smithies, Havard, Pearce-Paul, Shorrocks, Mago, Thornley, O’Neill, Miski, Hill, Nsemba, Eckersley, Forber, Hampshire.

Prediction: Hull go into this one off the back of strong win over Huddersfield. But we’re tipping the visitors by 14.

Catalans v St Helens (Friday, 7:45pm, live on Sky Sports)

Matt Ikuvalu could make his Super League debut, having arrived from Australia on a deal until the end of 2023, with an option for 2024. 

Mitchell Pearce, Julian Bousquet and Manu Ma’u are back in the Catalans squad, while Michael McIlorum misses out through suspension. 

St Helens welcome back trio Alex Walmsley, Curtis Sironen and Tommy Makinson for the trip to France.

Prediction: This one could go either way. The hosts – just. Catalans by eight.

Warrington v Wakefield (Friday, 8pm)

Daryl Powell welcomes back Joe Bullock into his Warrington 21-man squad. Joe Philbin and Paul Vaughan both return from their respective suspensions.

Following his move from Keighley, ex-England international Luke Gale has been included in Wakefield’s 21-man squad.

Warrington: Ashton, Bullock, Clark, Currie, Drinkwater, Dufty, Green, Harrison, Kasiano, Mata’utia, McGuire, Minikin, Nicholson, Philbin, Ratchford, Russell, Thewlis, Vaughan, Walker, Whitehead, Williams.

Prediction: Hard to see past a big Warrington win here.

Leigh v Castleford (Friday, 8pm)

Leigh boss Adrian Lam says he will give Fiji international Ben Nakubuwai every chance to make the match day squad. The forward has been sidelined through injury since their home defeat to Wigan.

Young winger Elliot Wallis has been included in Andy Last’s 21-man Castleford squad. Cain Robb makes his return to the first team fold after a stint on the sidelines with a hand injury. Meanwhile, forward Daniel Smith has joined Championship outfit Featherstone on a short-term loan. 

Leigh: Hardaker, Briscoe, Chamberlain, Leutele, Charnley, Mellor, Lam, Amone, Ipape, Mulhern, Asiata, Nakubuwai, Reynolds, Holmes, O’Brien, Davis, Gannon, O’Donnell, Wilde, Seumanufagai.

Prediction: Leigh by 18.

Leeds v Salford (Friday, 8pm)

Leeds will be without Aidan Sezer for a few weeks says head coach Rohan Smith due to an injury sustained in the defeat to Leigh prior to the international break.

The Rhinos do however welcome back Morgan Gannon into contention. James Donaldson has also been named, with Luis Roberts dropping out.

Salford boss Paul Rowley revealed that he will be without star winger Ken Sio for around a month after the 32-year-old fell down a pot hole on the club’s training pitch.

Leeds: Myler, Newman, Macdonald, Handley, Austin, Oledzki, Tetevano, Bentley, Martin, Smith, O’Connor, Lisone, Sangare, Holroyd, McDonnell, Gannon, Walters, Tindall, Donaldson, Johnson, Sinfield.

Prediction: Salford by 14.

Hull KR v Huddersfield (Friday, 8pm)

Forward Sauaso Sue returns to Hull KR’s 21-man squad for Super League Round 11 following his two-game suspension. Willie Peters is set to be without international half-back Jordan Abdull for up to six weeks due to a quad injury. 

Rowan Milnes returns to the squad following his short stint with Wakefield, while Jimmy Keinhorst drops out.

Sam Hewitt and Innes Senior have both been recalled from their respective loans at Wakefield and have been included in Ian Watson’s Huddersfield squad. Jamaica international Kieran Rush has also been named. 

Hull KR: Coote, Ryan, Opacic, Kenny-Dowall, Hall, Sue, Parcell, King, Linnett, Minchella, Litten, Kennedy, Batchelor, Storton, Lewis, Milnes, Hadley, Wood, Luckley, Aydin, Wood.

Prediction: This should be an interesting tie for supporters. Hull KR by 10.
