St Helens 30-0 Celtic
St Helens furthered their lead at the top of the engage Super League table with a routine 30-0 win over Celtic Crusaders.
The home side led 24-0 at the half-time interval with the second period scoreless until Chris Dean’s 74th-minute touch down.
The Crusaders have failed to score a point against the Saints this season after a 4-0 defeat at Brewery Field in March.
The first score came after Leon Pryce combined with Sean Long for Lee Gilmour to cross before Pryce set up Paul Wellens for the second, Long converted both for 12-0 lead.
Long also had his hand in the third touch down, working with James Roby for Tony Puletua to get over the line, Long then adding his third goal.
Just before half time Matt Gidley found space on the win to score, Long’s conversion making the score 24-0 at the half-time interval.
Ade Gardner knocked on close to the Crusaders line just moments after the restart, and Saints had to wait until six minutes from time for Dean’s try, Long again adding the extras.
