St Helens youngsters go out on loan
Whitehaven have signed back-rower St Helens on a one-month loan deal.
Cooper, 21, was captain of St Helens’ Academy Grand Final winning team in 2016 and played 11 times for Saints’ reserves side last year.
A product of the Blackbrook amateur club, he played two games on loan at Sheffield last year.
Whitehaven coach Carl Forster said: “Its great to get Liam over the line, He’s a player we’ve had our eye on for a while now and it’s brilliant to get his services.
“He’s a young keen lad who is just after game time so he will add good depth in our pack. He’s a workhouse on the field with a good set of skills, I’m looking forward to seeing him in the Haven shirt.”
Meanwhile, fellow Saints youngster half-back Rob Fairclough, has joined Championship side Swinton also on a month’s loan.
