Stefan Ratchford signs new two-year deal with Warrington
Warrington Wolves have re-signed Stefan Ratchford to a new two-year deal.
The new contract will extend his time at the Wire to 13 seasons. It will keep him at the Halliwell Jones Stadium until the end of the 2024 season.
Ratchford, 33, joined the club from Salford in 2012 and has made 291 appearances to date, scoring 83 tries.
The goal-kicker has over 1,500 career points to his name and currently sits seventh on the club’s all-time points scorers list with 1,256. The versatile England international is also currently celebrating his testimonial season.
Stefan Ratchford: ‘I’m over the moon to be staying’
Speaking on the new deal, Ratchford said: “I’m over the moon to be staying with the club.
“My time here so far has absolutely flown by. To have been here for 11 seasons and going on to be 13 now is quite surreal.
“The fans have been fantastic with me. As a Wigan lad, and joining from Salford too, when I first came I was unsure about how I’d be welcomed but now it’s almost like I’m a Warringtonian in some ways!
“It’s been amazing and the fans have been great. We’ve had some success along the way but even in difficult times they’ve always stuck by us. Hopefully now we’re going to put things right for the final part of the season. We’re striving to achieve success going forward.”
Head coach Daryl Powell added: “Stef’s a great player and person, who’s dyed in the wool here at Warrington.
“I’m delighted he’s chosen to stay. He’s a high-quality player who can play in a number of key positions.
“His experience and knowledge for the younger players around him is valuable too and makes him a great guy to keep on board.”
