Steve McNamara gives update on forward situation
Catalans Head Coach Steve McNamara confirmed both Dylan Napa and Sam Kasiano would be back in contention for the Dragons next week.
Napa has been missing since the first round, when he picked up a red card during their 28-8 defeat against St Helens. He was subsequently banned for four matches.
Meanwhile, Kasiano will return having sat out their win over Wigan after picking up a couple of niggles in the last few games.
This is welcome news for McNamara, will likely be missing Jordan Dezaria for the next couple of weeks. The forward was sent off after clashing with Wigan’s Kaide Ellis.
McNamara said: “Yeah, Dylan Napa will be back available. So he’s back available next week.
“Sam Kasiano could have played tonight. He’s carried a couple of niggles since the last two games. But because of a lack of props, we’ve had to ask him to continue.
“It was good for us to be able to rotate him tonight. But he and Napa will both be available next week.”
McNamara also gives update on Fouad Yaha
McNamara also revealed Fouad Yaha is fit after he was a late withdrawal ahead of last week’s win at Warrington. Yaha pulled up in the warm-up with a hamstring injury.
On him, McNamara added: “Tonight, Fouad (Yaha) was available for selection if needed. He’s done tremendously well to recover from that slight tweak at Warrington. I thought it was a little bit too early for him- we had the opportunity to train him a bit more.
“I thought the conditions suited Arthur’s (Romano) game, and I thought he did a great job for us. He’s a great kid- he works so hard and has worked hard to get where he is.
“He’s had terrible injuries. Staff love him, the boys love him because of his attitude and resiliency.”
