Stone wary of Wakefield threat

Rick Stone admits in-form Wakefield pose a big threat to Huddersfield’s hopes of continuing their own recent improvement when the two teams meet on Friday.

Trinity go into the clash on the back of a four game winning run, while the Giants have lost just one of their last three, and Stone acknowledges it will be a tough test.

“They’ve got a good thing happening, a good vibe and playing with good energy,” he said. “They’ve got a bit of strike right across the park, some in the forwards, some might be stood on the edges.

“They’re a threatening team, they like to score some points and their defence is going pretty well at the moment as well. It’s always an interesting fixture.

“If we can get a couple of wins and get a bit of confidence, just give ourselves a little bit of a buffer where we can actually play with more freedom and express ourselves a little bit better and not be playing with so much pressure.”
