Suffolk and Sneyd hit with bans

Three players have been suspended after being found guilty of offence committed in recent fixtures when they appeared before an independent disciplinary tribunal on Tuesday evening.

Tony Suffolk of Rochdale Hornets has been banned for 10 matches for the Grade F offence of making dangerous contact with Alex Thompson of North Wales Crusaders in the third minute of the League 1 fixture played on Sunday June 14.

Suffolk, who pleaded guilty, was also fined £100.

Marc Sneyd of Hull FC has been banned for two matches and fined £300 for making Grade C dangerous contact with Leeds Rhinos player Danny McGuire in the 71st minute of the Super League fixture played on Sunday June 21.

Sneyd pleaded not guilty to making Grade D dangerous contact but the tribunal found him guilty of a Grade C offence.

Jamie Acton has been suspended for two matches after being found guilty of Grade B punching in the 78th minute of the Championship fixture against Batley Bulldogs played on Sunday June 14.

Acton, who pleaded not guilty, was also fined £100.

The following players have been suspended after submitting Early Guilty Pleas (EGP):

Brett Ferres (Huddersfield Giants) – two-match suspension for Grade C punching v Widnes Vikings.

Tom Lillycrop (Batley Bulldogs) – one-match suspension for Grade B striking v Leigh Centurions.

Alex Davidson (University of Gloucestershire All Golds) – one-match suspension for Grade B punching v Newcastle Thunder.

Matty Baron (Newcastle Thunder) – one-match suspension for Grade B punching v University of Gloucestershire All Golds.

Louis Sheriff (Newcastle Thunder) – two-match suspension for Grade C running in and punching v University of Gloucestershire All Golds.
