It’s time for Love Rugby League’s Sunday Social, your alternative recap of the serious and not so serious talking points from the past seven days.

Albert Kelly made a winning return to NRL action after a seven-year absence. The former Hull FC and Hull KR man starred on debut as Brisbane stunned high-flying Sydney 34-16 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

In Super League, Wigan half-back Jackson Hastings nailed a late drop goal to help his side to a 17-16 victory against former club Salford at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Warrington winger Josh Charnley crossed brilliantly in the corner to move joint-fifth on Super League’s all-time try scoring charts. His finish in Saturday’s 38-14 victory over Castleford put him level with former team-mate Ryan Atkins and 61 behind Danny McGuire.

Rob Burrow was impressed by the performance of Catalans youngster Arthur Mourgue as the Dragons became the first team to beat St Helens in 2021.

Good to see League 1 Keighley getting in the Eurovision spirit!…

And finally, New Zealand Warriors’ Reece Walsh continues to make a name for himself in the NRL. The 18-year-old only made his first grade debut at the end of last month!
