Super League announces date for Awards night
The Super League have confirmed it’s annual awards evening will take place at Headingley Stadium on 19th September.
Awards given out on the night include the Steve Prescott Man of Steel Award, the Loch Lomond Spirit of Super League award, top tackler, top scorer, Coach of the Year, and Young Player of the Year.
The three-man shortlist for the Man of Steel award will officially be unveiled on the 8th September. Before then, the shortlist for the Young Player award will be announced on the 6th. Meanwhile, the Coach of the Year shortlist will be announced on the 7th.
It has also been announced that the awards will be streamed live on YouTube. Further details will be announced closer to the time.

Last Super League awards
In last year’s Super League awards, the big winners were Catalans full-back Sam Tomkins and St Helens forward Jodie Cunningham, who won the Man and Woman of Steel awards respectively.
Catalans Head Coach Steve McNamara won the Coach of the Year award. He guided the Dragons to a top-of-the-table finish for the first time in their history. Although they would end up falling short in the Grand Final.
Wigan forward Joe Shorrocks took the top tackler award, after completing 833 tackles over the course of the season.
Meanwhile, Catalans winger Tom Davies claimed the top metre-maker award, having ran for 3,332 metres for the Dragons.
Salford winger Ken Sio took the top try-scorer award, with 19 tries. St Helens full-back Jack Welsby also took the Young Player of the Year award.
Finally, former Leeds captain Kevin Sinfield took the Spirit of Super League award, after his efforts in fundraising for former teammate Rob Burrow and the MND Association. Burrow was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2019.
