Super League stats: Jack Welsby leading try assists alongside Connor
St Helens full-back Jack Welsby is leading the way in try assists in Super League.
The 21-year-old has 13 try assists to his name so far in the 2022 league campaign. He assisted four tries over the busy Easter weekend against Wigan and Huddersfield.
Jake Connor also has 13 try assists so far. Both the Hull and St Helens full-backs have crossed for three tries.
Josh Drinkwater and Tui Lolohea both have 12 try assists.
Ken Sio leading try scorer
Salford winger Ken Sio returns to the top of the try scoring leaderboard with 12 tries. Wigan’s Jai Field, who scored three tries over the weekend against St Helens (1) and Wakefield (2) also has 12.
Tommy Makinson has 11 to his name, while Josh Charnley has crossed for eight.
Ryan Hall, Matty Ashton, Tom Johnstone and Greg Eden all have seven.
Hookers making the tackles
The top four tackle makers in 2022 so far are hookers. Hull’s Danny Houghton is at the top with 355, shortly followed by Sam Powell with 350.
Andy Ackers has 342 and Paul McShane 333. In fifth place, Luke Yates has completed 318 tackles.
Makinson, 30, has made the most metres so far with 1440. He is just above Field with 1427 and Ash Handley with 1215.
Clean breaks, carries and goals
Wigan full-back Field, 24, has made the most clean breaks with 16 so far in Super League 2022. The next three are wingers in Makinson (14), Hall (13) and Johnstone (11).
Innes Senior has made the most carries with 155. Hall has 149, Darrell Olpherts with 147 and Joe Westerman with 144.
Marc Sneyd and Gareth O’Brien have enjoyed the most success off the kicking tee with 28 goals each so far this season. Stefan Ratchford has converted 24, and Makinson 23.
