Sydney 24-10 Parramatta: Roosters impressive in win over Eels
Sydney Roosters put in a remarkable performance to win 24-10 against Parramatta at Bankwest Stadium.
The Roosters opened the scoring in the 20th minute through Brett Morris.
Kyle Flanagan then added two penalty goals in the second quarter to give Trent Robinson’s Roosters an 8-0 lead at half-time.
Brad Arthur’s Eels came out firing at the start of the second half, with Michael Jennings going over in the 43rd minute.
Maika Sivo crashed over the line on the hour mark, with Mitchell Moses’ conversion putting the Eels in a narrow 10-8 lead.
But the Roosters soon regained the lead thanks to Boyd Cordner who touched down. Flanagan’s conversion gave his side a 14-10 advantage.
Flanagan then added two more penalty goals to stretch Sydney’s lead to 18-10, with Parramatta’s Jennings being sent to the sin bin.
Daniel Tupou scored to wrap up the victory for the Roosters in the 76th minute. Flanagan converted to seal a 24-10 win for the Roosters.
