Sylvain Houles calls win over Hull KR “just the beginning”
Toulouse Head Coach Sylvain Houles has said his side’s win over Hull KR is just the beginning, as they aim to avoid relegation from the Super League.
Houles’ side claimed their third win of the season against Hull KR thanks to tries from Latrell Schaumkel, Paul Marcon, Chris Hankinson and Olly Ashall-Bott.
The only blot on their copybook was a try for Albert Vete for Hull KR, who missed the chance to overtake their city rivals in the final play-off spot.
They are now four points behind Wakefield in the Super League table, who play Wigan on Sunday. Toulouse then face Wakefield at Magic Weekend on Saturday.
Houles added his side had the right to be happy with their performance. It was their biggest win of the season so far. They have previously beaten St Helens and Wakefield at the Stade Ernest Wallon.

Houles calls Wakefield game another huge opportunity
He said: “It’s a fantastic feeling and the players deserve to celebrate, you can hear them in the dressing rooms.
“It’s right that they should be happy but it’s not time to party yet, this is just the beginning. There is much more hard work ahead if we are going to get where we need to be.
“We knew how important it was for us to win tonight and the players prepared so well for it.
“The team spirit and the effort was there and our defence was much stronger. We talked about dedication and the lads showed lots of that tonight.
“We’re still in the process of learning how to play in Super League but we are improving all of the time.
“We’re getting closer and closer and next week (against Wakefield) is another huge opportunity for us.”
