Tallis slams Blair as dirty
Gorden Tallis says that Kiwi prop Adam Blair is one of the dirtiest players in the NRL and he is disappointed he plays for his former club the Broncos.
Blair is set for a one game ban after a chicken wing tackle on his Brisbane Broncos teammate Sam Thaiday in the Anzac Test on Friday.
The forward was recently banned for a hit to the head of South Sydney‘s Adam Reynolds.
Tallis, who previously captained the Broncos, believes there was intent on the part of Blair.
“I think he is one of the dirtiest players on the field and he means to do it,” he said.
“I think it is poor what he did. I am disappointed he wears the Broncos jersey and plays like that.”
Tallis said you wouldn’t do what Blair did to a teammate in Thaiday.
“If I was playing against him, if the referee did not take matters into his own hands, I would have,” the QLD and Kangaroos great said.
“Play tough, play fair. It’s a man’s game. It’s tough enough without getting hit in the back and twisted and all that.
“I don’t know why (Brisbane coach) Wayne (Bennett) keeps letting it go because he would chastise all of his players because we always wanted to play within the rules.”
