Taumalolo inks 10-year deal with Cowboys
Jason Taumalolo has signed a 10-year contract at North Queensland Cowboys, the longest deal ever awarded to a player in the NRL.
The Kiwi international forward has been linked with a potential move to the NFL, but will now spend the rest of his career with the Cowboys.
The deal is reportedly worth Aus$10 million to last year’s NRL player of the year Taumalolo.
“I’m very proud to be able to say that I’m staying a Cowboy for life,” said Taumalolo.
“Obviously to throw myself into another game, the negatives outweighed the positives.
“It was all about securing my future and obviously the opportunities that I have playing for this club, to be playing for this club for the rest of my career, is a big one for me.”
