Thais call up Twigg from Woolston

Woolston Rovers winger Chris Twigg has been called up by Thailand, and should make his international debut against Malta in October.

The winger has grabbed eight tries and kicked 40 goals in Woolston’s season so far, playing 11 games.

He will now look to impress against the Maltese in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand.

“I’m buzzing about being selected to join the Thai squad. I just can’t wait for October now,” said the youngster, who qualifies through his Thai grandmother.

“I’m honoured to be given the chance to represent Thailand and I hope to do the Woolston club proud.”
