League 1 clubs are asking the RFL or the club to cough up for their travel costs to Cornwall. Chiefs were caught by surprise by the announcement of Cornwall joining the competition, receiving the news just five minutes before it broke on social media. Central funding has been cut by almost 75% for League 1 clubs.

Jarrod Sammut on the move
London Broncos half-back Jarrod Sammut has signed for another Championship club for 2022. The 34-year-old Malta international has made more than 250 career appearances for Penrith, Crusaders, Bradford, Wakefield, Workington, Wigan, Leigh and London. Sammut’s move to his next club is expected to be announced imminently.
Challenge Cup finals day
The Women’s Challenge Cup final is set to take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday 28 May as part of a triple-header with the men’s Challenge Cup and 1895 Cup finals. It will be the first time that the women’s final has been played alongside the men’s – in 2019, it was part of a triple header with the men’s semi-finals, and in 2021, was played as a stand-alone fixture at Leigh Sports Village.

The most watched live stream in the Championship last season was between London Broncos and eventual champions Toulouse. Figures showed that there was a drop off of almost 70% in average audience when streams go from being free to being paid for. The average stream figures were under 1,000; and dwarfed by the 165,000 that watched the Grand Final between Toulouse and Featherstone.
Leigh in for Adrian Lam?

The former Wigan coach was interviewed by the Centurions this week, according to the Manchester Evening News. In addition, Kurt Haggerty, who was the club’s takeover coach last season, has been linked with an assistant coaching job at Salford next year.
Bradford star on Super League radar
Super League clubs St Helens and Hull are interested in Bradford prop Ebon Scurr. (The Telegraph & Argus)
The 21-year-old is currently out of contract, but he is reportedly on the radar of Hull and St Helens.
