Tomkins selected for Auckland Nines
Sam Tomkins has been named in New Zealand Warriors’ squad for the Auckland Nines.
Tomkins, 24, will line-up alongside Kiwi World Cup star Shaun Johnson, in a suitably attacking looking squad that also includes the likes of Konrad Hurrell and Glen Fisiahi.
The England full-back will not play in the upcoming friendly against his former club Wigan, as NZ Warriors head coach Ricky Henry focuses on the Eden Park tournament.
“We wanted to put a strong squad together,” said Henry.
“And we’ve been able to do that with a group of players who’ll give us plenty of skill and pace.”
