Toulouse bring in former Leigh forward
Toulouse have confirmed the signing of former Leigh front-rower Paterika Vaivai on a one-year contract.
The 26-year-old joined Leigh Centurions ahead of last season, playing nine games before being released from his two-year contract.
Vaivai, who was born in Samoa, started his professional career with Newcastle Knights in 2014, before joining Gold Coast Titans. He has made 16 appearances in the NRL.
On joining Toulouse, Vaivai said: “I can’t wait to meet everyone at the club and hopefully help the team reach their goals by gaining promotion to Super League.
“I know that Toulouse is a club based on a rich history, which I look forward to being part of.”
Olympique chairman Bernard Sarrazain commented: “The experience at the high level, despite his young age demonstrates the talent of Patty.
“He is a rookie who can only do good to our group.”
