Two juniors make the step up for London Skolars
London Skolars have handed first-team deals to Kayne Chan-Kitchener and Leighton Ball for the 2019 season.
Chan-Kitchener is one of the youngest members of London’s squad for 2019, being just 17 years of age.
Ball played for the Skolars’ Under-20s last season and will make the step up to the first-team this year.
On promoting the duo to the first-team, Skolars’ coach Jermaine Coleman said: “Both Kayne and Leighton have demonstrated a real talent and potential playing for our juniors, and we are hoping to mould them into first-team players.
“Both have great attributes of speed, footwork and tenacity and most of all, they have great attitudes. I’m looking forward to seeing their development.”
Skolars’ chief executive Hector McNeil added: “It’s one of the highlights of my involvement when I see talented youngsters move up from our juniors to the first-team.
“Skolars are the only professional rugby league team to run junior teams from Under-9s to Under-20s.
“The results are clear with the lads playing first-team, for the Broncos and for other professional clubs in all divisions.”
