Two Super League players banned
St Helens hooker Aaron Smith and Huddersfield prop Suaia Matagi have been suspended.
The Rugby Football League’s match review panel gave Smith a one-match for making dangerous contact on Toronto prop Adam Sidlow in Saints’ 32-0 win over the Wolfpack on Saturday.
Smith will miss St Helens’ home game against Huddersfield on Friday.
In the same game, Toronto forward Bodene Thompson has avoided suspension following his dismissal for a shoulder charge on Matty Lees in the 67th minute. The match review panel deemed it a minor Grade A offence.
Elsewhere, Matagi will also miss Huddersfield’s trip to St Helens on Friday after being given a one-match penalty notice for a Grade B trip on Wigan full-back Bevan French in their 42-10 defeat by the Warriors on Sunday.
Giants captain Aidan Sezer has avoided any further punishment for the high tackle that saw him sin-binned during that game, with it being deemed a Grade A offence.
Huddersfield centre Jake Wardle was given a caution for a dangerous tackle while Warrington back-rower Ben Murdoch-Masila has been told his yellow card for a high shot on Alex Mellor in their 36-0 loss at Leeds was sufficient.
