Wakefield bring in Adam Tangata in Keegan Hirst swap deal
Wakefield have signed Halifax prop Adam Tangata, with Keegan Hirst going in the opposite direction.
Tangata, 28, started the season at Widnes but returned to Halifax following the Vikings’ administration.
A Cook Islands international, he is Wakefield’s third new signing of the week after Morgan Escare and Chris Green.
Coach Chris Chester said: “It’s another good bit of business by us to get Adam Tangata signed until the end of the season.
“Along with Chris Green, he’ll add a lot to the pack in these remaining games and I’m looking forward to seeing him out there.”
Hirst, 31, was out of contract at the end of the year and hasn’t been offered a new deal.
He joined Wakefield from Batley ahead of the 2017, with Halifax showing an interest in signing him for 2020.
Chester added: “Everyone at the club would like to wish Keegan the best of luck at Halifax.
“He’s done a real good job for us since joining in 2017 and – with him being off-contract at the end of the season – it’s a chance for him to get plenty of game time in these last five weeks.”
