Wakefield dealt huge injury blow to Tinirau Arona
Wakefield forward Tinirau Arona has been ruled out for the remainder of the season through injury.
The Cook Islands international sustained a ruptured ACL and MCL in Trinity’s 26-25 win over Huddersfield on Friday.
Arona left the field in the first half and didn’t return to action at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Wakefield were already without 10 first-team players for their West Yorkshire derby against the Giants.
But despite their growing injury list, Chris Chester’s side currently sit third in the Super League table.
The season-ending injury also means that Arona, who has 10 caps for the Kukis, will not represent the nation when they face South Africa in a World Cup qualifier on June 21.
? Unfortunately we’ve had confirmation this evening that @t_arona sustained a ruptured ACL and MCL last night and will miss the remainder of the season.
